Phytotron

Controlled environments for the future of cultivation.

Developed for Paris based startup Interstellar Lab, Phytotron is a highly controlled growing environment designed to develop and validate cultivation recipes for food and high value plants.

The project covered the complete development of the system, from initial concept through design, engineering, manufacturing and final turnkey delivery.

DESIGN

Phytotron was conceived as a modular research platform capable of creating precisely controlled growing conditions within a compact architectural system.

The exterior was deliberately restrained and functional, concealing the complex environmental systems required within while creating a clean and repeatable product architecture.

CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT

Each chamber allows key growing conditions to be independently controlled and monitored, enabling researchers to study how plants respond to different environmental parameters.

This makes it possible to develop repeatable cultivation recipes for applications ranging from future food production to high value crops used in industries such as fragrance and cosmetics.

DEVELOPMENT

The project required coordination across industrial design, engineering, environmental systems, manufacturing and assembly.

Every element was developed as part of a complete system, balancing technical performance, serviceability, manufacturability and the needs of researchers operating the equipment.

TURNKEY DELIVERY

The project was overseen from inception through to finished installation, including design development, supplier coordination, manufacturing and final integration.

Phytotron demonstrates how controlled environment technology can transform plant cultivation from an agricultural process into a precise and repeatable system.
