Slank Installation
The Slank installation follows the principal of a unicursal labyrinth, meaning it is open at both ends. This creates an interactive platform with the ability to stimulate creative thought, promote enlightenment, and open up deep insights.

Panels are connected and follow a continuous path from opposite sides that are open at both ends.
This is based upon the belief that knowledge should be open to all individuals with many paths of acquiring it.
The concept of a labyrinth is present throughout the design down to the smallest detail. The inward curve encourages interconnection and creates a feeling of integration.
Positioned in central gardens and town squares as a sanctuary of thought, drawing people in from far and wide.
A labyrinth is appropriate in the context of educational institutions due to their ability to stimulate creative thought, facilitate enlightenment, and open up deep insights.
The bench is constructed from 16 unique parts that are cut from sheets of light oak wood using a CNC milling process. The resulting parts are hand sanded before undergoing multiple coats of varnish.
These parts are attached using bolts and screws. Before forming a continuous loop, the succeeding panel’s component is introduced. A spacer is inserted between panels for uniformity, creating a moiré pattern. This step is then repeated until the necessary length is achieved.
